Hear Maya Azucena’s New Song ‘Fearless’

Maya Azucena's Fearless Available October 22

Acclaimed artist and activist Maya Azucena introduces her soul-rousing single “Fearless”, inspired by the woman’s warrior spirit and a tribute to the women of “BeadforLife” in Uganda. The song also celebrates the launch of the MAZU Collection, Azucena’s signature line of handmade jewelry, in collaboration with BeadforLife.

“Fearless”, produced in Paris by DAVIDO, “is a reflective song of empowerment for all women and is inspired by the women I met in Uganda earlier this year,” Maya states. It compliments the overall message of her MAZU Collection: “Be the Fearless You.”

European Tour In November

The Moengo Music Festival was amazing. Seeing the potential of youth blossom before me was an incredible experience and working with them as they prepared for the festival reminded me of my mission to reach the world through music.

But now I’m back home and getting ready for my tour in Europe! From November 6 to November 15, I will be performing shows throughout different countries in Europe. Starting from Berlin, I hope to interact with my international fans.

Venue information coming up. Stay tuned!

Maya In Croatia And Suriname

Hey Maya fans. This week, I am in Croatia for a short while preparing for future shows and enjoying the scenery. I may not be here for long, but this is just a prelude for bigger things soon to come.

After leaving Croatia at the end of this week, I will be visiting Suriname! The United States Department of State has me to tour local towns in Suriname as an example of ambassadorship, empowerment and cultural exchange. I will be preparing youths for a performance at the Moengo Musical Festival. From September 15 to the 23rd, I will inspire youth self-expression and encourage young people to engage with the world around them by using their voice as an instrument through which they can explore and better understand their culture, their society, and ultimately themselves. It will be a fantastic time, and I hope to show the power within the youths of Suriname.

September 3rd Release, BLACK BUTTERFLY for Trayvon

BACK TO SCHOOL! Maya Azucena’s “Black Butterfly” single aims to inspire youth with her September 3rd release, and also raise funds for the
Trayvon Martin Foundation.

BLACK BUTTERFLY, by Maya Azucena

This is for every single black boy in America. It is for every black boy who did and continues to do great things with their legacy. You’re all beautiful. And for those who’s lives have been unjustly snatched too soon. You’ll never be forgotten.
To begin with, Maya’s remake of Black Butterfly is clearly inspired by Trayvon Martin. As such, 100% of the proceeds will go to support the Trayvon Martin Foundation and mission – in particular, “to create awareness of how violent crime impacts the families of the victims, and to provide support and advocacy for those families…(and) to increase public awareness of all forms of racial, ethnic and gender profiling” and build sustainable solutions.
Maya’s truest desire for this song is for it to reach the ends of the earth and have the greatest possible exposure to do so. She intends for this song to impact all listeners to know their value and to strive for their greatest potential. She also thinks this song,Black Butterfly, has the potential to promote healing around the loss of Trayvon, and healing for other families with lost loved ones, as well as to set focus and energy toward nurturing the positive growth of young boys like Trayvon.
At times circumstances feel very bleak, and hope is a powerful tool for impacting social change. We move when we are inspired. Songs inspire.
