“Thank You For Using Your Voice to Make the World a Better Place”
UNCOMUN is a multi-genre, multi-media, performance series at NYC’s East Village venue, DROM. Beginning in Jan 2012, it will be a monthly event produced by both multiple-award winning singer/humanitarian Maya Azucena, and Uncomun founder, marketing mogul and musician, Nevaris Crawford.
UNCOMUN makes it’s return with a show on Weds. November 16th. Featuring performances by Maya and her band, LOUD APT., HAWKMAN (Sly and Robbie) and guests such as ELI EFI, JOHN ROBINSON and FID Q (Tanzania).
DJ CENTER, one of Maya’s absolute favorite DJs is coming out of hibernation as the resident on the 1s and 2s! VJ CARLO DE JESUS will be live -mixing images and 2 guest dance troupes.

The 5th Annual “Hearing Our Voices” Awards Reception, will be held in NYC on November 17th.
Voices UnBroken established the Hearing Our Voices Award in 2007 to honor individuals who use their voices to benefit the greater good. This year Maya Azucena will be one of their honorees.
Voices UnBroken is a nonprofit dedicated to providing the under-heard members of the community, primarily youth ages 14-21, with the tools and opportunity for creative self-expression. They bring their services into group homes, residential treatement centers, jails, juvenile detention centers and various other transitional settings.
